Sarah’s skills as a coach and director are incredibly wide ranging. Working one to one with actors, she deftly prepares them for their roles. She will support them in developing a movement language and style that accurately reflects what’s needed for their specific project, assisting them to broaden their movement language vocabulary, embody their character with subtlety and nuance to bring the character to its fullest possible expression.
Highly experienced at working with ensembles of performers and teams of animators, she directs rehearsals, devises choreography and ensures cohesion and consistency in performance. One of her specialisms is creature performance research and direction. Her ability to translate the nuances into movement and facilitate the embodiment of creature characters in actors and animators is widely called for in the industry.
Sarah coaches one to one for specific roles; considering the character’s inner world, life story, character journey/arc, personality, mental state, illnesses, conditions, psychology, age… and how these factors play their part in characterisation and embodiment. Sarah honours the genre and period of the piece, the performance style and works with the world & environment in which these stories unfold.
Sarah has also coached musicians, singers, dancers, presenters, magicians, child performers, writers, journalists
and other non-professional performers in various contexts and settings.
She is able to take a director’s or production’s brief then implement it in a supportive and constructive way with artists. In the often hectic schedule of filming Sarah’s calm, measured pro approach leads to astonishing results.

As the stunt coordinator
on Jupiter Ascending, I thank you for your contributions to the project. To have someone like you create the movement of our characters and train our actors and stunt performers was the key element of our success.
— R.A. Rondell, Stunt coordinator
Sarah brought some excellent solutions that helped our team to develop the movements of one of the main characters we created for this movie.
